The days are getting shorter for sure, as we approach the equinox. The nights are getting cooler as the first day of Autumn approaches. Have you taken the time to notice? Have you enjoyed the days any more, or savored the nights a little longer? Just the other night we had the Harvest Moon (no not the song by Neil Young). The big orange orb hung on the horizon for what seemed like an eternity the other night before it lit up the whole night sky. We have had some beautiful clear evenings with stars in abundance. If you can get to a dark hill spend some time looking up, especially as the moon begins to wane. It is all part of the cycle of life (no not the song from Lion King). The writers of those songs had to figure it was pretty special though to be able to write such inspiring stuff. Maybe we need to read some of the nature psalms (Psalm 19, 29, 92, 96, 97, 98, 104 for just an example) or look up the "Canticle of the Sun" in the church missalettes. St Francis was in awe when he wrote it, "The Heavens are telling the Glory of God..." Enjoy!
